Reid-Hillview EIR
The draft 2006 Reid-Hillview Airport Master Plan is in the process of being updated, and the Planning Office has been preparing the Environmental Impact Report (EIR).
The Master Plan would provide for the airport's operation and growth through 2022. The following are the plan's main components:
- Expansion in onsite basing capacity from 724 planes to 750 planes. This will be accomplished through construction of four new hangers in the southeast section of the airport.
- Shifting of runways (13L-31R & 13R-31L) northwest to provide for a standard runway safety area.
- Formalization of two helicopter landing pads on the west side of the airport.
- Construction of new taxiway on west side of airport.
- Non-aviation commercial development at two separate parcels currently on airport property, and the formal commercial use of a 10,600 square-foot building on Swift Avenue.
